Take A Trip Through Our Area
The Heartland of Dairy Heritage
Oxford County is widely recognized as the Dairy Capital of Canada, and we’re proud to be one of the producers responsible for upholding that title. Beyond our own factory doors lies a region rich in agricultural tradition, scenic vistas, and hidden culinary gems. Whether you are a dedicated “cheese purist” or an adventurer looking for the perfect country drive, Bright Cheese & Butter and the area surrounding us offers a unique blend of heritage and hospitality that makes every visit a journey worth taking.
The Oxford County Cheese Trail
The Cheese Trail is a curated, self-guided tour of over 30 stops dedicated to the craft of dairy. While the trail encompasses museums, local restaurants, and artisans, a stop at Bright Cheese & Butter offers something no other location can: a visit to the oldest remaining cheddar factory in Canada. Visitors often make us their first stop to stock up on our legendary fresh curds and naturally aged cheddars before continuing on to explore the trail’s cheese-inspired menus and local galleries. It is the definitive way to experience the flavors that put Oxford County on the map.
The Rural Ramble
If you prefer the “path less traveled,” the Rural Ramble is designed for you. This itinerary focuses on the quiet, scenic backroads of the Blandford-Blenheim area, which is the very heart of our rural community. It encourages visitors to embrace a slower pace, highlighting local farm stands, garden centers, and the beautiful “gravel travel” routes that showcase the true character of Ontario’s countryside. By following the Ramble, you’ll discover the local farms that have supported our factory for generations while enjoying some of the most picturesque views the region has to offer.
Adventure Checklist
To make the most of your trip through Oxford County, we recommend a little preparation.
Bring A Cooler
Our cheese is 100% natural and made without preservatives. To keep your cheddars and curds at peak quality while you explore, a cooler with ice packs is a must.
Check The Calendar
While we are open Monday through Saturday, some smaller trail partners have varied hours. We recommend a mid-week or Saturday trip to ensure you catch as many stops as you can.
